Combining elements of burlesque cheesecake, classic vintage tease and a healthy dose of mischief, Poppy Cherry has been a regular fixture on the Melbourne burlesque scene both on and off the stage since 2009. Poppy’s theatrical, energetic, interactive routines are always a crowd favourite. Performance highlights have included the Australian Burlesque Festival, Champagne Burlesk, Fantastic Asia Film Festival, Red Door Burlesque and many more, as well as residencies at Burlesque Bar, Shimmy Shake, and Strawberry Sundays. Behind the scenes, Poppy has produced various burlesque events, including the comedy burlesque whodunnit ‘Stage Fright!’ and the 60’s film event ‘Poppy’s Peepshow’. Poppy is the Stage Manager for the Australian Burlesque Festival national tour, and producer of the upcoming noir feature film ‘Only The Young Die Good’.
